Puma Shirt and Bonus Navy/Gray Flowers Top

This post is a two-for-one deal! Last winter, I made my much-loved Zebra Shirt from some fun thermal knit fabric from Girl Charlee. I was pleased to find the same fabric in aqua with pumas, so I decided to make some more long-sleeved thermals! While I was at it, I made another from some navy and gray flowered thermal knit that I had on hand from Fabric.com. When you're sewing assembly-line-style, it's not too much extra work to make multiples of the same thing.  In fact, I like sewing assembly-line-style---you get in a groove!

I completed these in early December, and they are getting a ton of wear already. I think I've perfected my perfect long-sleeved T-shirt pattern!
It's so sunny here--it's hard to get a photo without the sun streak.

Sewing Notes- I have my own basic long-sleeved shirt pattern that I've tweaked over time. It has just enough shaping to fit and still be super-comfy. I did my usual neckline binding (I never just fold over and sew). Usually, I use a twin needle for the hems, but this time, I simply used a zig-zag stitch, and it works great. I think the zig-zag stitch looks a little more casual than a twin needle, but these are casual shirts.

Quite honestly, when the navy/gray flowered fabric arrived, I thought it was boring. And I fully expected this top to end up as a pajama shirt. But now that it's made up into a top, I quite like it. It will definitely be a "regular" top, not just jammies. Hooray for that!
